Our Developmental Gameplay Program is the perfect opportunity for young players to gain their first game-like experience while continuing to develop their skills and love for the game.
About the Program
North York Academy’s Developmental Gameplay Program is designed for players ages 5 and up, providing a fun and safe environment for their first real game experience.
This co-ed program allows young players to get valuable game exposure while continuing to train with their friends and learn from our professional coaching staff in an exciting, supportive setting.
This program was created to introduce kids to real gameplay at an earlier stage, helping them build confidence and skills before reaching the ages where they can join competitive teams. In combination with our Developmental Classes, this program ensures players have a strong foundation in soccer from an early age.
Each team is led by one of North York Academy’s qualified coaches, who also coach in our competitive and developmental programs. Every session begins with a structured warm-up, where players learn a new skill that they are encouraged to apply in the match that follows.
At this stage, the focus is on building confidence in dribbling, encouraging creativity, and introducing basic positioning concepts to help players feel comfortable on the field.

Program Policies & Discounts
The Developmental Gameplay Program is available in all three seasons: Fall, Winter, and Spring.
- Sibling Discount: 10% off for the second child’s registration.
- Multi-Class Discount: Sign up for two or more North York Academy Programs in the same season and receive a 15% discount on the second class for one child. (ie. If you are registered for our summer house league program at Hudson College and sign up for our summer Development Game Play you will get 15% off the summer Development Game Play).
- Discounts apply only if registered before the season start date and do not apply to single-class registrations.
All discounts are based on the standard program fee.
