NYA WINS THE FTF X VSC SPRING SHOWDOWN

The North York Academy U-19 Boys were crowned champions of the 𝐅𝐓𝐅 𝐱 𝐕𝐒𝐂 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧, hosted at the Vaughan Soccer Club facility. The team enjoyed a hugely successful tournament, winning every game in their run-in to the final. 

The final was played against Darby FC from Darlington/ Whitby. The NYA boys put the pressure on instantly, pressing high up the pitch and forcing the opponents into errors. The effort paid off eventually, with Kanye Charles sliding in at the back post to finish a well-worked move to make it 1-0. 

With just one-way traffic throughout the first half, NYA doubled their lead with a moment of magic from Lucas Negrao, leaving the defender on the floor with a drop of the shoulder and a calm finish into the bottom corner. 

NYA controlled the tempo for the rest of the game and keeper Giovanni Siesto continued his golden streak of clean sheets, having conceded a grand total of ZERO goals the entire tournament. 

The final whistle was followed by massive celebrations from the lads, who fully deserved the win. The tournament awards followed the trophy celebrations, with 5 of our players making it to the team of the tournament. Here are the players that made it to the Tournament All-Stars:
