PRE ACADEMY (U7/U8)

PROGRAM

North York’s Pre-Academy is designed for young athletes in the U7 and U8 age groups who are progressing from our Recreational Program and are ready for the next stage of development. This environment introduces players to a more structured and engaging approach to soccer while maintaining a strong focus on enjoyment, creativity, and confidence with the ball.

Through age-appropriate training sessions, players begin to build essential technical foundations, coordination, and game awareness. Our methodology encourages curiosity, freedom of expression, and a love for learning, ensuring that each child develops at their own pace within a positive and supportive setting.

While results are not the priority at this stage, understanding the game, making simple decisions, and building strong habits with and without the ball are key components of long-term player growth. The Pre-Academy serves as an important bridge between recreational soccer and future competitive pathways within North York.

player profile

The Pre-Academy is intended for enthusiastic young players who demonstrate passion for the game, willingness to learn, and the ability to engage in a more focused training environment. At this early age, curiosity, effort, and enjoyment are valued more than physical maturity or match results.

We look for players who are eager to improve their relationship with the ball, listen to guidance, and participate positively within a team setting. Developing confidence, coordination, and basic decision-making are essential markers of readiness as players prepare for future progression into higher-level programs.

By establishing strong technical habits and a genuine love for soccer, the Pre-Academy lays the foundation for each player’s long-term journey within the sport and within the North York pathway.
